About Chantel Reshae (Chantel's Tale)

My given name is Robert Martin. I was born and raised in Ames, Iowa. I graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Commercial Recreation.

While attending school I had the opportunity to work for Showbiz International as a singer dancer. I also was the top choreographer at Iowa State and choreographed several major musicals including Pippin, Fiddler on the Roof, and the Wiz. Outside of choreographing I also held several major roles including Jack from Into the Woods and the Scarecrow in The Wiz. If that wasn't enough I was also very active in the modern dance club as well as the ballroom dance club. After graduating I moved to Florida to work for Walt Disney World. Shortly after the move I got a contract to perform for Premier Cruise lines on the Big Red Boat. It was after that contract that I discovered the world of female impersonation. My first show I saw was at Southern Nights in Orlando, Florida. Instantly hooked I sought out someone to help me get started. The first person to put me into face was Crystal Chambers. Soon after I was adopted by DJ Brianna Lee and she helped me prepare for my first stage appearance at the world famous Parliament House. She and I did the duet "It isn't, it wasn't, it ain't never gonna be". That night Chantel was born. Brianna and I came in 2nd place and were invited to the finals the next week. The following week we perfomed the duet "Find out what they Like" and came in second runner up. I was completely hooked. Since then I have gone on to work with some of the best entertainers around. I find that I split my time performing and creating for other people. I have helped many entertainers achieve their dreams. Some of my favorite achievements were choreographing for Tasha Long and Cezanne when they won Miss Florida FI on back to back years, choreographing for Danielle Hunter when she won Miss Continental Elite, and assisting DeeRanged when she achieved her goal of winning Miss EOY. Today I find myself becoming the go to person when you need an MC for a benefit. I am also the choreographer at the Parliament House. And my newest role seems to be the "mother" to all the new upcoming entertainers who are bursting at the seams with creativity and talent.

I am honored and elated that I can now add to my resume that I am your Miss Gay Mid-East America. I hope that I can continue the rich tradition that I have always seen attached to this title.

I want to end with one final thought. I know a lot of entertainers like to have fans all around them. And while I see the appeal I would rather have all sorts of new friends around me. Friends talk to you, share with you, and enrich you. So please become my friend. We will all be richer for it.

Love,
Chantel!
